CPI(M) MLAs, on Wednesday, organised a protest rally in Agartala against the recent attack on opposition party leaders in Tripura.

Besides the MLAs, other leaders of the party also took part in the demonstration.

Tapan Chakraborty, Bhanu Lal Saha, Nirmal Biswas among others walked the streets of Agartala with placards around their necks calling the people of the state to come forward against the one-party rule in Tripura.

“I was the Chief Minister for twenty years, and I did nothing which was against the people,” former Tripura CM Manik Sarkar said.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty lambasted the demonstration.

“There is no incident of political murder during the time of BJP-IPFT government in Tripura. The CPI-M has lost their base from the masses and that is the reason they are organising such a political demonstration,” Chakraborty said.
