Tripura: Head constable arrested for alleged involvement in cannabis trade

TRIPURA:

Gayatri Das, a head constable of Tripura Police, was arrested here on Thursday for her alleged involvement with cannabis traders.

Police arrested her at her residence in Mohanpur and brought her to West Agartala police station for interrogation.

On February 15, Das was issued a suspension after a telephone conversation between her and the cannabis trader was leaked on social media.

Sources stated that Das was in contact with Prashanta Chakraborty, a drug peddler.

Because of her connections, she managed the carry on the trade with no hindrance.
