Four miscreants get bail after attacking police officials in Tripura

AGARTALA:

Four miscreants from Tripura got bail after assaulting two Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASI) of Pitra Police Station who had gone on an anti-alcohol drive in Pitra Bazar on Tuesday evening.

Police identified the quartet as Surajit Sarkar, Pradeep Das, Dilip Chakraborty and Tapas Das. According to sources, Sarkar is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party.

They were granted bail after police took them to a Court in Udaipur in Gomti district on Wednesday.

According to sources, many are questioning the role of the police following the incident.
