Following the death of the patient, his family members allegedly went berserk and attacked Dr Partha Talapatra and Lalmohan Banik, another health worker of that hospital.

The All Tripura Govt Doctors’ Association (ATGDA) has condemned the attack on the doctor and the health worker.

Led by Dr Biswajit Pal, members of the Association of Gomati District rushed to the Natun Bazar Hospital where they met Medical Officer-in-charge Dr Milan Bhakta Jamatia and got the details of the incident.

Later, the delegation went to the local PS and demanded immediate action against the culprits.

Dr Biswajit Pal said they have full faith and confidence in the police and believe that they will be able to arrest the culprits.

"If anyone has any grievances against any doctor, then he can file a complaint. But these kinds of attacks is not a solution and it would not be tolerated," said Dr Pal.

Health officials and senior doctors have also condemned the attack on the doctor.

It may be mentioned that this is not the first incident in the state. Several attacks on doctors had happened in recent times in Tripura.
