Twenty-two per cent total crime has decreased, claims Tripura CM

AGARTALA:

Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb claimed that the crime rate had decreased to 22 per cent in the last year during the police week programme at Manoranjan Debbarma stadium, AD Nagar, on Friday.

Deb said that the number of road accidents dropped to 28.8 per cent, attempts of murder case reduced to 23.5 per cent, robberies decreased to 62.5 per cent and added that rape cases stand at 15.4 per cent less compared to 2019.

“I don’t want any of the heinous crimes like rape to happen in this beautiful State of Tripura,” Deb said.

Meanwhile, Opposition parties like the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Congress alleged that the law and order condition in the state is pathetic.
