Manipur: Assam Rifles seizes illegal timber-laden truck

IMPHAL:
The Assam Rifles unit of Manipur, on January 15, intercepted a truck carrying a vast quantity of smuggled timber in Ukhrul District.
Acting on human intelligence(HUMINT), the troops intercepted a truck at around 10:20 am.
The vehicle was carrying 200 cubic feet of smuggled timber, and the driver of the truck identified as Zimik was detained for interrogation.
The estimated value of the smuggled timber was quoted at ₹ 64 lakh.
The recovered timber along with the detainee were handed over to Shangshak Police Station(PS) for further investigation.
