KOHIMA:

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday presented the State Budget 2021 during the ongoing session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima.

Addressing the media after the presentation of the budget, Rio has termed the budget as "people-friendly".

“We are highlighting and prioritising agriculture and allied sectors to make ourselves self-sufficient. We have understood from the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown that unless we achieve self-sufficiency in food grains, eventually we are going to face problems,” Rio said.

On the resolution adopted on the Indo-Naga political issue, the Chief Minister said that the resolution exhibits the mind of the people and will continue to do so.

Rio also said that they have met all the different Naga Political Groups and requested them to come together for a meaningful dialogue in order to sort out differences.

The groups have agreed to a "one solution" approach, and when the time comes, they would arrive at a consensus to sign the agreement, Rio added.

"It is just a matter of time, and I am confident that they will come together. We will stand with the wishes of the people and the direction of the GoI," added Rio.
