‘Progress and development can be achieved only through education,' says Manipur CM

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh attended the inaugural function of a “One Day Panel Discussion on National Education Policy, 2020” which was organised by the Education Department at the City Convention Centre, Imphal on March 11.

“Education is the backbone of the society and no progress and development could be achieved without education,” CM Biren Singh said at the event.

He added that the officials of the government departments should interact with the public regularly, hear their grievances, to make the public feel that the Government is for the people. 

The Manipur CM also added that the New Education Policy (NEP) aims to incorporate the teaching of vocational skills within the school curriculum to augment innovation, adaptability, and productivity.

He added that the NEP, 2020 is an India centric education policy and urged all the teachers to render their services wholeheartedly.

Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar Singh, Education Minister, S Rajen Singh, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board L. Rameshwor, officials of the Education Department and representatives of Students’ Union attended the function among others.
