Manipur Congress leaders meet President Kovind over MLAs disqualification row

Manipur Congress leaders led by All India Congress Committee (AICC)-in-charge Bhakta Charan Das, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Govindas Konthoujam, and other members called on President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Congress leaders met the President to discuss the constitutional role of the Governor in matters related to the disqualification of 12 MLAs who were given the post of parliamentary secretaries in 2017.

The Congress delegation signed the memorandum which, was submitted to the President of India.

Subsequently, after meeting the President, a press briefing by Congress leaders was also held in New Delhi.
