Manipur CM N Biren Singh tests positive for COVID-19

IMPHAL:

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh is the latest political leader in the country to test positive for COVID-19.

"I have tested COVID positive today (November 15) after having some symptoms," Singh wrote on his official Facebook page.

Singh has requested people, who have been in close proximity to him in the last few days, to get themselves tested.

"I am fine at the moment," the chief minister added.

Manipur reported five more COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 218.

So far, the state has registered 21636 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3084 active and 18,334 recoveries.

The recovery rate in the state is 84.73 per cent.
