CBI raids official quarter of Manipur University Assistant Professor

The Central Bureau of Investigation, Anti Corruption Branch (CBI-ACB) reportedly raided the official residence of N. Sanatomba, an assistant professor-cum-security officer in Manipur University (MU) and S.P. Thaisii, a retired Home Guard commandant over the illegal appointment of 24 home guards in the Manipur University on Wednesday.

During the raid, the CBI recovered incriminating documents related to the appointment and deployment of the 24 fake home guards at MU.

Sources confirmed the recovery of property papers concerning a .32 acre plot of land at Langthabal as well as .625 acre and .78 acres of agricultural land in Konthoujam Kanong at the official residence of the said Assistant Professor of MU.

The CBI recovered 12 LIC policies, two post office RD accounts and seven bank accounts along with a credit card, one Hyundai i20 car, one Honda Activa, one high-end bicycle and other items.
