Assam Rifles seize contraband items in Manipur

The Assam Rifles team on March 11 recovered a number of contraband items from Tengnoupal district of Manipur, which were reportedly left unattended.

The security team from the Assam Rifles launched an operation after receiving information about the dumping of illegal goods in bulk quantities near Pineapple Farm.

After the search operation in the area, the security forces recovered 59 gunny bags filled with branded shoes, apparels, mosquito repellent products and 25 boxes filled with exotic plants worth ₹ 36.10 lakhs, all these items were found unattended.

The goods were later on handed over to the Customs Department in Moreh for further investigation.
