Assam: People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK) cadre held in Karbi Anglong

Karbi Anglong Police arrested the self-styled general secretary of the People’s Democratic Council of Karbi Longri (PDCK) on Thursday in an operation led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Hq) Karbi Anglong, Nahid Karishma.

The police team, which comprised the OC of Bakalia Police Station, 2nd Officer of Diphu Police Station and APR personnel, apprehended Nongme Tungjang (aka Sanjib Phangcho) at Thekerajan area under Bakalia Police Station.

Police also recovered one 7.65 mm pistol, four rounds of live ammunition, two Vivo mobiles, PDCK demand letters and other incriminating items from Tungjang’s possession.

An investigation into the matter is ongoing, informed a police official.
