Two US TV journalists shot dead on air
WASHINGTON: Two journalists were shot dead during a live TV report in the US state of Virginia, their employer confirmed, media reported on Wednesday.
WDBJ7 TV reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were killed while an interview was being aired in Moneta, Bedford County early Wednesday, the CNN-affiliate WDBJ TV station said.
During the live broadcast, shots could be heard, sending reporter Parker and the person she was interviewing running.
Police said they are investigating the incident and were searching for the suspect.
The station said the person who was being interviewed survived the attack.
Parker and Ward were filming a feature segment for the morning news program at Bridgewater Plaza, a shopping and recreation plaza.
The attack took place at a large shopping centre, Bridgewater Plaza, near Smith Mountain Lake.
