Two drug peddlers land in police net in Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR | Sept 30, 2020:

Two drug peddlers have been arrested by the Anti-drug squad (ADS) of the Changlang district police in Arunachal Pradesh.

Acting on a tip-off regarding the presence of drug traffickers, a team of ADS conducted a raid at the Laktong area on September 28.

The ADS arrested one drug peddler identified as Kamjam Hangphuk (40) and recovered about 1.49 kgs of opium from his possession.

A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) at Changlang Police Station.

However, on further investigation, Hangphuk revealed the name of his partner identified as Hungwang Hangsik (40), a resident of New Kuthung village under Lazu circle in Tirap district on September 29.
