Sikkim SNT to arrange bus service for students in Gangtok
GANGTOK | SEPT 21, 2020:
Due to complete COVID-19 lockdown imposed in Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC) area from September 21 to 27, Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) will run dedicated bus services to allow the students to appear for several examinations conducted by the state and centre.
Some examinations being held in the GMC area are Compartmental Examinations of Classes 10 and 12 of the CBSE, IGNOU Term End Examinations, National Eligibility Test (NET) by National Testing Agency (NTA) and some other examinations of the College level.
To facilitate students reach their examination centres within the GMC Area where total lockdown in operational, the SNT Division of the Transport Department will run dedicated SNT bus services from three points at Ranipool, Ranka and Tashi View Point to respective examination centres falling in the GMC Area.
The bus services will also drop the students from the examination centres to these three points.
However, students are required to reach these three points from their respective places on their own.
Respective students are required to send WhatsApp or text messages giving their names, phone numbers, Class, Admit Card number, name of examination, date and venue of examination and pickup point so they could be contacted for pick up from Ranipool, Ranka or Tashi View Point, Human Resource Development officials said.
