Manipur CM lays foundation stone for bridge at Lilong Litan Makhong

IMPHAL | SEPT 24, 2020:

The Chief Minister of Manipur, N. Biren Singh, laid the foundation stone for a Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) bridge at Lilong Litan Makhong on Thursday, which will be built over Turel Ahanbi of Lilong. While addressing the gathering, Singh said, "I look forward to equal development and benefits for every community living in the state".

Lilong is home to a majority of Manipuri Muslims known as the Meitei Pangals. Singh also said that the state government approved the construction of the RCC bridge at Lilong Litan Makhong as it felt the need to do so.

"The need of the hour is for visible works. Gone are the days of just giving political speeches," Singh said.
Regarding corruption, Singh said that change should come from oneself and that people have an equal responsibility in eradicating corruption.

"If one is qualified, nobody can stop him or her from getting selected or appointed," he said. Others who attended the event included former minister and current MLA of Lilong constituency Abdul Nasir, P. Vaiphei, Commissioner (Works) and the chief engineer of PWD, Kh. Themba Singh.
