BIRMINGHAM:

Reigning world champion PV Sindhu suffered yet another semifinal defeat at the prestigious All England Championships at the hands of Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand in the women's singles on Saturday.

Sindhu was India's remaining hope at the prestigious All England Championships following Lakshya Sen's loss in the quarterfinals.

However, the Olympic silver medallist couldn't match the pace, power and precision of the younger world number 11 Chochowong and lost 17-21 9-21 in a match that lasted 43 minutes.

Notably, the world no. 7 Indian had also lost in the semifinals at the 2018 edition of the All England Open.
