AGARTALA, July 3: The Congress would take stern action against its MLA Ratan Nath for his closeness to Bharatiya Janata Party shortly." We have forwarded Nath's anti-party activities to AICC. Action will be taken against him soon," Congress chief Birajit Sinha said.
Being a Congress man, he had supported the BJP ideology. We also want to see how far he could go. Congress's decision against him would be announced in due course of time," he said and added that he himself would visit Ratan Nath's Mohanpur constituency soon to propagate Nath's anti-party activities to the voters.
Nath was served show-cause notice by Congress but he didn't reply and was accused of maintaining relationship with the BJP and have inspired many Congress workers to join BJP.
He even wrote a letter to Union Home Minister seeking security for BJP in-charge Sunil Deodhar in the Left-ruling state.
