The immaturity or sheer lack of one go the Pradesh Congress Committee president and his company asking For the Nagaland Chief Minister educational qualification is a sign of how low the national part has stooped to get even with the Chief Minister T R Zeliang.
As we all know Nagaland is reeling under huge financial imbalance and stress within the economy and issues of disbursement of salary to the government employees is another big problem .
To add to the woes their is ambiguity in the indo-naga peace talks and what many are claiming is that issue is now dragging on certain technical points. Many are angry at the state and centre for their lack of transparency in this crucial matter .
But the Congressman ,till some years ago a credible opposition part in the state has completely lost the plot ,instead of going against the CM on a host of reason given above have decided to personalise the issue by questioning the government on his educational qualification .
NPCC working president P Ayang Aonok in a memorandum to Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya alleged that Zeliang ad furnished false information in the affidavit in Form-26 that he had passed Bachelor of Arts in 1980 while filing his nomination paper before the returning officer for election to the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly from Peren (ST) assembly constituency.
Zeliang had said in his nomination that he had passed BA from Kohima College under North Eastern Hill University in 1980.
NPCC had, however, through an RTI found that Zeliang had appeared for BA examination from the college in 1979 but failed. He did not appear for the examination in 1980..
So what is the real reason that the Congress trying to do – build its own fortunes in the state ,something these allegations will hold much sentiment to amongst the larger Naga public.
Or is their agenda to remove him from the post of CM from his post on technical grounds ,this idea may seem more plausible as there are many within the NPF who would like to occupy the coveted chair .Sadly for many of these legislators ( mostly Neiphiu Rio supporters) this would lead to an ugly fight with the regional party.
Looks like in Nagaland the Congress party has become something like an outsourcing agent – the party devoid of any specific plan intend to embarrass the CM just because his some within his own party wants him out .
With Jamir gone and also the stalwarts the Congress looks like a pale shadow of its past
