Breaking news | Pall of gloom descends on Northeast as Govt to table Citizenship Amendment Bill on Tuesday

The Government of India has done the inevitable which many in the Northeast had feared as they will now move the citizenship amendment bill on Tuesday in the Rajya Sabha .
It remains to be seen now that with this indication if the allies in the northeast will remain or are the regional parties barring AGP only posturing but will not quit .
Major constituents of the NEDA like the Conrad Sangma NPP and MNF have been threatening to quit while parties like IPFT in Tripura not making their position clear.The BPF has also been largely silent on this issue .In Manipur the women activists have been leading the protests while in Tripura the royal scion Pradyot Manikya Debbarma has been drawing mammoth crowds at his protest rallies which is clearly got the government shaken in the state.
The Congress on their part has passed a resolution that they will oppose the bill and also scrap the bill if they came back to power in the centre
There is a pail of gloom in different parts of Northeast with the announcement that the bill will be introduced as many allies and BJP voters had hoped that the BJP would back down .But it seems that the BJP with leaders like Biplab Deb ,Himanta Biswa Sarma and a few others will be brazening it out in this Citizenship amendment bill .
