IIT Gandhinagar to hold second edition of “Seminar Series on Indian Scientists”

SHILLONG:

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) will organise the second edition of the Seminar Series on Indian Scientists on November 21, 2020.

This edition will have two online seminars on the lives and works of Indian-American mathematician and physicist Harish Chandra and Indian physicist C.V Raman.

Both talks will cover a few technical aspects as well as deal with the historical and social contexts in which those pioneers worked.

Prof. C.S Aravinda from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) CAM, Bengaluru and Prof. Rupak Banerjee from IITGN will deliver a lecture on the contributions of the pioneers of modern Indian science.

The seminar series is curated by IITGN faculty Prof Sudipta Sarkar and Prof Michel Danino.
