SHILLONG | JUNE 24, 2020:
The sub-committee headed by Urban Affairs Minister, Hamletson Dohling is likely to submit a report on the sustainable solution relating to relocating the Sweeper's Colony from Them Iew Mawlong to the High-Level Committee (HLC) in the state.
While talking to reporters, Dohling said, "The sub-committee will have its final sitting next week before submitting a report to the High-Level Committee".
According to Dohling, the HLC had constituted the sub-committee to look into the dissimilarity between the State Government and the Hima Mylliem regarding disputed land in Sweeper's Colony.
"The sub-committee had been able to resolve the differences which are there between the Government and the Hima Mylliem", he said.
He also appreciated the cooperation of the Acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem, Ainam Manik Syiem and KHADC Executive Member in-charge Elaka, Jambor War to resolve differences. Adding that there was a delay in submitting the report due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
