The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) in a press conference on May 11 urged all the political parties in the state not to indulge into personal attacks on poltical leaders to defame them to gain political benefits.

" For the last few weeks we are witnessing personal attacks and accusations not in the traditional media but mostly on the social media, where we are  not attacking political leaders politically but we are attacking them based on their personal lives. Today there are much important issues in front of us such as unemployment, education, health, economy. forest bill, Citizenship Amendment Bill. But we are focused o personal lives of others and through social media rumors are which culture we see in West Bengal, "said Pradyot Kishore Debbarma.

Debbarma also met the Chief Minister and BJP state President, Biplab Kumar Deb on the issue of personal attacks on him and his family and requested the Chief Minister to look into the matter as many of such rumors are being allegedly spread by BJP social media activists.

" I met the Chief Minister along with the letter of my mother, Bibhu Kumari Devi where she has written to the Chief Minister not to bring personal issues in political fight. The problem is that people do not know facts and they don't do their homework, when my father Maharaja Kirit Bikram Debbarma has donated land to  Swasti Committee for Vallabhbhai Patel Hospital in Kanchanpur post merger than the govt. of Tripura has exempted 26,500 units of electricity per annum for Ujjayanta Palace. For our other properties in he state we pay our electricity bills.  I have also asked him to pull up the people in his party for stopping such activities immediately. The Chief Minister has assured me that he will look into this seriously".

On the issue of a recently published article in a local daily where it has been claimed that there are electricity bill dues worth more than 20 lakh rupees of Pradyot Kishore Debbarma which he had not paid, Debbarma said, " There is no bill in my name and for that Rajmata Bibhu Kumari Devi had earlier also written the CM for which she has received no reply yet. You are not replying on one hand and on the other plant fake stories of such kinds during the time of elections to divert people and the same tactics are being used at the national level as well. Many people from outside control the media in the state and has eve said that my sister, Pragya Devi is an Italian citizen. I would also like to ask them to do their homework first".
The TPCC President also made it clear that the Congress party will move to the SC against the demand of re-polling in the entire West Tripura Lok Sabha seat.Pradyot Kishore Debbarma also requested the people of the state to come out tomorrow and vote keeping all the points for their future in mind but to vote whoever they feel is the deserving candidate and if they feel that there is none than to vote for NOTA.
