Tripura: Security Force seized cash Rs 15 lakh & contraband worth Rs. 1.73 lakh, 1 held

AGARTALA | November 21, 2019:

Border Security Force on Wednesday arrested a border criminal and also recovered cash Rs 15 lakh and contraband items Rs. 1.73 lakh today.

According to BSF, they had received an intelligence input regarding smuggling of Yaba Tablets in Srimantapur village. Accordingly, a joint operation with the department of Customs was planned and observed suspicious movement of a person with a backpack along Indo-Bangladesh Border.

On search of the bag, BSF recovered Indian Currency of various denominations having value of Rs 15 lakh.

During questioning, he revealed that he had received the consignment from Munir Hossain of Sepahijala district.

The arrested person along with the seized currency has handed over to the police.
