Tripura: SC sends notices to GoI on Pradyot’s petition against CAA

The Supreme Court today sent a notice to the Government of India on the petition filed by Tripura royal scion, Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman against the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019.
The top court today has sought a reply from the government on how it intent to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act in Tripura when it had already signed the Instrument of Accession, Tripura National Volunteers (TNV) accord and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) accord where it was stated that the Government is to ensure the safety, protect the culture and identity of the indigenous people of Tripura.
The petition which was filed by Manikya against the CAA was listed for hearing by the SC today.
