Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais unfurls tricolour at Republic Day celebration in Agartala

Tripura today joined the nation in celebrating the 71st Republic Day amid tight security arrangements.

Contingents of para-military forces, police, women police, home guards, NCC, Scouts-Guides and NSS among others participated in the Republic Day parades held at all district headquarters including the state capital Agartala.

The Republic Day celebration began with the unfurling of National Flag at residential houses, government and semi-government offices, business centres, and cultural organizations.

The celebration began with the Governor Ramesh Bais unfurling the National Flag and inspecting the march past by para-military force personnel at Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala.

Hundreds of school children wearing colourful uniforms presented drills and cultural skits with patriotic songs and music.

Governor Ramesh Bais greeted the people on the occasion and paid tributes to the millions of the heroes of India's freedom struggle. He lauded the achievements in various sectors of development in the state.
