Tripura: FM presents “tax free” budget of Rs 19,891 cr

Tripura's BJP-IPFT government today placed a tax-free budget of Rs. 19891.60 crore on the first day of the ongoing state budget session.

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Devvarma, who also holds the Finance portfolio, today placed the budget proposal in the House, which is 13.46 percent higher than the 2019-20 budget estimates.

Addressing the media later this afternoon, Jishnu Devvarma said, "This budget proposal is a realistic, development-oriented and tax free budget. We have heavily increased allocations in different development heads. So, we have incurred some deficit".

He also said that this year, for the very first time, separate budgets were prepared for SC and ST communities this year.
