Tripura Congress president to meet Sonia Gandhi; party reshuffle expected

Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president, Pradyot Kishore Debbarman is expected to meet INC interim president, Sonia Gandhi in Delhi on August 21.

Party sources confirmed that the meeting has been scheduled with the Congress president to discuss the organizational matters and more specifically on how to strengthen the party's rank and file.

Party sources informed that after meeting with INC president, it is expected that a major reshuffle will be effected in the PCC and new faces are all set to get importance in the proposed exercise.

The PCC president is gearing up to strengthen party base in the state's tribal belts, since the TTAADC is near.

It is expected that Pradyot Kishore would take up the ADC election during the meeting with party high command. "He has successfully led the party to a respectable result in the Lok Sabha elections after the deplorable performance in Assembly elections," party sources said.
