Tripura Congress forms Committee to oversee distribution of funds to district, block levels

The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday constituted a 3-member committee to oversee monthly dismemberment of funds to district, blocks, frontals and cells.

It may be mentioned that the TPCC president, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma had earlier announced and introduced a new scheme where all the blocks, frontals and cells of the party will be provided financial assistance to run their offices.

"This high powered committee was formed to ensure that funds reach Congress workers at the grassroot level in Tripura," said Debbarma.

He further requested to the committee to oversee that such transfer of funds is done in a transparent way. :"It is my endeavour that the funds reach the humble party workers in a timely manner," he said.

The members of the committee includes — Chairman: Tapas Dey, ex-MLA and vice president, Member: Baptu Chakraborty, general secretary and Member: Rahul Saha, Spokesperson and secretary.

The Congress president had earlier stated that the party needs to restructure the organisation and get out of the clutches of Agartala based leaders who do not spend enough time in the rural and far flung areas.

According to this new scheme, each of the 60 Blocks will get Rs 5000 per month to run their offices.

Each of the districts will also be given a Fixed Amount of Rs 10,000 to oversee their activities every month.

Furthermore, an amount of Rs 25,000 every month will be sanctioned for the Mahila Congress to function smoothly. The NSUI and Tripura Youth Congress will also be given a stipend of Rs 25,000 and 20,000 every month.

Other Frontals like Adivasi Congress and SC/OBC cell will also be given Rs 15,000 per month.

In line with this, all the district and block committees have been asked to immediately set up the bank accounts for transferring the Payments, which will be made respectively from the 1st of August.
