AGARTALA | June 13, 2019:
In a political war, Tripura BJP women's wing sent 5 lakh post cards to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with "Jai Shri Ram" written on them.
On Thursday noon, the members of Mahila Morcha had assembled at Post office Chowmuhnai where they wrote chants on the cards before posting them to Mamata Banerjee.
"The Bengal CM has hurt the sentiments of the whole nation by disrespecting the chant; We have decided to send 5 lakh post cards with 'Jai Shri Ram' written on them to the chief minister's residence," Mahila Morcha members stated.
According to a media report, Chanting Jai Shri Ram in West Bengal has become a controversial political issue as Mamata Banerjee has reacted time and again to those who have chanted these words in her presence. In a recent video, she is seen getting down from her SUV and instructing policemen to arrest those who chanted Jai Shri Ram, terming them as criminals. She is heard telling policemen to search every house in the locality and arrest those who have chanted Jai Shri Ram.
