State election commission amends ADC schedule in Tripura

AGARTALA:

The State Election Commission on Friday changed the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) election schedule in Tripura to April 6 instead of April 4 in all 28 constituencies.

The counting will take place on April 10.

Earlier, the State Election Commission (SEC) announced that the ADC election will be held on April 4.

Various organisations demanded to change the election date, which is also an Easter celebration day.

The state election commissioner, M.L. Dey notified the new schedule on March 12 responding sensitively to the plea made by the Church organisations on behalf of the Christian community.
