Sikkim | SKM women’s wing to file FIR against CM Chamling for comments on menstruation

GANGTOK | January 14, 2019:

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha(SKM) women's wing on Sunday threatened to take legal action against Chief Minsiter Pawan Chamling for his derogatory remark on menstruation.

SKM's reaction came after ruling Sikkim Democratic Front's (SDF) Nari Morcha said there was no reason for the chief minister to apologise for his comments.

Chamling courted controversy when he allegedly referred to menstruation as a taboo in a speech to his party workers on December 5 last and that he did not know what it was called since it did not happen to him. His comments had evoked laughter from the audience.
