DIBRUGARH:

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have decided to contest in the upcoming assembly election in Assam.

Speaking in a press conference in Guwahati, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that the party would make the foray in alliance with like-minded parties.

Yadav said, “We will discuss with the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF). We are part of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and have had a long relationship with the Congress party.”

This was Yadav’s first visit to Assam that will head to polls on March 27, April 1 and 6.

“The opposition alliance must ensure communal forces do not come to power in Assam. The country is witnessing a massive protest opposing the farm bill, and our economy is in a terrible shape. Prices of essential commodities are increasing,” Yadav said.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for failing to solve the rising unemployment problem.
