Nagaland | Re-poll in Deputy CM’s constituency begins

KOHIMA, April 25, 2019: Re-polling has begun at the Riphyim Old-III polling station under Tyui Assembly constituency in Wokha district following a complaint filed by the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) against deputy chief minister Y Patton for violating the model code of conduct (MCC) and a subsequent order by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

According to CEO's media cell, DC and DEO Wokha has informed that adequate security would be provided and all the necessary arrangements would be available to ensure free and peaceful polling.

The CEO informed that Armstrong Pame, who has been deployed by the Commission as the General Observer for the re-poll, has arrived in Wokha.

He added that the scrutiny of poll related documents for the polling station, which is going for re-poll, would be taken up on April 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the office of the RO and Commissioner Nagaland.
