Nagaland: Maintenance work disrupts power supply in parts of Kohima

The Nagaland government has been carrying out maintenance work in order to facilitate stable power supply in the state during the upcoming winter festival season and Hornbill festival 2019.

The Power department would be carrying out jungle clearance of 33kV lines under transmission division Kohima from October 10 to November 2.

"This is for information of all concerned that jungle clearance of 33kV lines is scheduled starting from 10.10.19 to 02.11.19 in an effort to facilitate stable power supply during the upcoming winter festive season and hornbill festival 2019," the note stated.

"While the department shall try to minimize the total shutdown, there will be intermittent disruption of power supply in some pockets during the activity which is unavoidable."

Transmission division Kohima executive engineer T Lithrichum Sangtam said that the department would try to minimize the total shutdown. The jungle clearance would be undertaken from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Lerie-Jakhama section (33kV Kohima Ringmain-2 feeder) October 10 and October 11; Kohima-10th Mile-Zhadima –Viphoma- Tsosunyu-Botsa Area (33kV Botsa feeder) October 12-26; Kohima-Lalmati (33kV Lalmati and AP-1 feeder) October 28-31 and Kohima-Chakhabama (33kV Chakhabama feeder) November 1 and November 2.
