Mizoram: Six university faculty members elected to Mizoram Assembly

Six faculty members of Mizoram University have been elected as members of Mizoram Assembly.

The faculty members of Mizoram University who have been elected as members of the Mizoram State Assembly include five from Pachunga campus and one from MZU campus.

The members include Prof. Mawia (Botany department, MZU campus), Dr. Lalchamliana (Political Science department, PUC), Dr. Vanlalthlawna (Commerce department, PUC ), Dr. Thangmawia (Maths department) and Dr. Tanpuia (Philosophy department).

It may be mentioned that in a new policy in Meghalaya, teachers of government-aided schools in Meghalaya have been barred from taking part in politics.
