Meghalaya | Tura Montfort Centre to receive national award from President today

The Montfort Centre for Education (MCE) will be presented a National Award by the Government of India in recognition of services rendered by it.

The award will be presented by the President of India at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday on the occasion of World Disabled Day.

The school located at Danakgre, has been in the forefront of inclusive education mainly to the differently-abled children from the region.

MCE was established in the year 1995 in an effort to impart good quality education to children from the region and has continued to strive on that front.

Since its establishment, specially-trained teachers have been imparting education to boys and girls beginning from Classes KG to XII.

Students at the institution have access to all forms of facilities for both mental and physical aspects. Over time the centre has been working with students with varied disabilities like the visually impaired, hearing impaired, locomotors disability, cerebral palsy, autism and intellectually impaired.

It has also been looking after several other institutions and including the study centre for B.Ed and Foundation Course, Vision, Audiometry and Speech Therapy Centre, St Louis Hostel for Boys with disabilities and St Francis De Sales Convent and Hostel for Girls with Disabilities.
