Meghalaya Shella Bypoll: Total poll percentage recorded at 84.56 percent

Shillong, Oct 21, 2019:

Voting for the by election to the Shella Assembly constituency has started in various polling stations since 7 am today and will continue till 5pm.

UPDATES

The final poll percentage has been recorded at 84.56 percent.

Till 5 pm, the poll percentage has been recorded at 79.83% till 5 pm though the overall percentage will be known after data from all polling stations is collected.

Till 1 pm today, 45.22% poll percentage was recorded.

Till 11 am today, voting in Shella was recorded at 22.72 percent. 

ALSO WATCH

There are a total of 58 polling stations in the constituency including five green polling stations and one all women polling station.

There are 29,763 voters which include 14,809 male voters, 14,954 female voters and 127 PWDs voters.

As many as six candidates are vying for the Assembly seat, which was earlier held by former Speaker, late Donkupar Roy.

They are: Balajied Kupar Synrem of the UDP, Batyngshaiñ  Ryngnga of the Congress, PDF candidate, Mosjo Rockfellar Wanswett and the two independent candidates- Grace Mary Kharpuri and Komen Laitmon.
