Meghalaya: Public to receive Covid vaccination in West Khasi Hills from March 1

After 40,000 health workers, the Health Department of West Khasi Hills district has announced that the Covid-vaccination for the public will start from March 1.

West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, T. Lyngwa, informed that the vaccination will be prioritised for people who are 60 years old, and for those with hypertension, diabetes, cancer and other major health issues.

He added that people suffering from major illnesses are to provide a medical certificate of their treatment and produce the same during the vaccination.

He also informed that vaccination will be free in every Health centre under the state government.

However, the same will cost ₹ 250 in private Covid vaccination centres.

He also said that people can register online for the vaccination by downloading the COWIN App from the play store.
