SHILLONG | Sept 08, 2019:

Several pictures of one of Shillong's famous tourist spots — Elephant Falls, depicting the falls as the latest victim of pollution took social media platforms by storm even as people alleged the Eastern Air Command of discharging all the sewage directly into the water body.

However, the Eastern Air Command (EAC) has termed the allegations as "false" and stated that the photographs being circulated on some social media platforms alleging the release of untreated water by EAC into Elephant Falls is "incorrect".

Furthermore,he stated that the sewage system of EAC comprises of Septic tank and Soak, which are entirely separate and not connected to drain.
