Meghalaya: Minister’s brother ‘involved’ in coal racket, police yet to make arrest

Meghalaya's Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Kyrmen Shylla's brother, Bison Shylla is found to be involved in the illegal transportation of coal.

Police officials informed that during the inquiry they have found the brother is also involved into the coal racket.

"We are yet to arrest anyone in this connection," a senior police informed.

As per the police website, on the intervening night of February 26-27, police from Umkiang PP East Jaintia Hills, detected twenty-four trucks, while illegally transporting coal towards Malidor area, in violation of NGT order.

During enquiry, it transpired that the following persons viz., (1) Bison Shylla, (2) Tre Rymbai, (3) Dipsy Bareh, (4) Pyllun Ksoo, (5) Anthony Sumer, (6) Alal Uddin, (7) Abdul Satar, (8) Badral Hussain and others, were involved in the illegal transportation of coal from Jaintia Hills to Malidor in Assam.
