Meghalaya: Man stabbed at Mawkhar in broad daylight

SHILLONG | March 5:

At a time when Shillong city is slowly limping back to normalcy, another stabbing incident was reported from Mawkhar today afternoon.

Police informed that the victim identified as Sanidul Islam was assaulted at Mawkhar main road by miscreants today at around 1 pm. He was later taken to Shillong Civil Hospital.

For the past many days, the Khasi Hills region has been marred by stray and violent incidents following the Ichamati clash which erupted between the KSU and non-locals on February 28.

Another similar incident was reported from Pyrken village under Shella PS in the wee hours of Sunday last. One Uphas Uddin (37 yrs) was stabbed and cut by 3 unknown miscreants at his house at around 2.45 am.

Again on the morning of March 1, one Aditya Kumar (28), resident of Upper Mawprem near Shiv Mandir was reportedly stabbed by some unknown miscreants with broken bottle at Lower Mawprem. The victim received shoulder injury and has been admitted at Shillong Civil Hospital.
