SHILLONG | August 28, 2019:
A day after ICFAI university in Tripura witnessed a clash between two groups of students involving a few from Meghalaya, the state government will be sending a delegation to Agartala to take stock of the situation following reports of security threats.
This was informed by the president of the Khasi Students' Union (KSU), Lambokstar Marngar after his meeting with Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma along with the parents of the affected students at his chamber on Wednesday evening.
"We have met the Chief Minister to brief about security threat of the 15 students from the State who are studying at the ICFAI University. He (Chief Minister) has given an assurance that the Government will send a delegation to Agartala on Thursday to take stock of the situation," Margnar told reporters.
Informing that there is a sense insecurity among the students from the State, he said that as per the reports, the problem cropped up due to the rift between the students from other parts of North Eastern States and the local students.
"Majority of the students from the State now wants to come back," he said.
