Meghalaya: Former Congress leader extends support to UDP’s Jemino Mawthoh

Former senior Congress leader, John F Kharshiing, who quit the party recently, has extended his support to UDP candidate and MDA nominee, Dr Jemino Mawthoh in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls on April 11.
Speaking to reporters at the NPP office here today, Kharshiing termed Mawthoh as the 'fittest' candidate from among the candidates who are contesting this election from Shillong Parliamentary constituency.
He said that the main reason for him supporting Mawthoh is because he is impressed with the unity among the MDA partners.
However, Kharshiing has denied resigning from the Congress over denial of party ticket to contest for the Lok Sabha polls for the Shillong Parliamentary seat.
