Meghalaya: Driver sustains serious injuries in accident in WGH

One person sustained severe injuries after a West Bengal (WB) registered truck met with an accident in Asuragre village in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.
The accident, which took place at about 2:30 pm today, is suspected to have been caused due to brake failure. The driver sustained serious injuries that required him to be hospitalized.
The driver has been identified as Amit Bakh (27) who is a resident of Tangra, Nimpur in Nadia district in WB. The truck was bringing hume pipes to the town of Tura from the city of Kolkata, when it met with the accident. The vehicle bore registration WB 41C 2981.
"The truck possibly could not control when making a turn on the road due to a brake fail leading to the truck hitting a tree. The driver was rushed to the hospital for medical care," confirmed superintendent of police, WGH, Dr MGR Kumar.
