Meghalaya CM inaugurates Industrial Training Institute’s new block in West Garo Hills

Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister In-charge, Labour, Prestone Tynsong inaugurated the New Block of the Industrial Training Institute Campus at Tura on February 27.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma said that the Labour department under the able leadership of Prestone Tynsong has been working tirelessly to bring reforms to the labour sector and to the overall skill sector in the state.

“About 50,000 youths will be capable to work every year and therefore keeping this in mind the Government need to come up with a plan and strategy to provide employment to these youths as they go forward in life, said CM Sangma.

The Chief Minister also informed that the state will soon come up with the State Youth Policy with an aim to empower the youth with “One Skill one Talent” which will ensure them to develop and pursue their talent in future career.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong expressed hope that the institute would benefit the youth of the region since skill is necessary in all sectors and advised the trainees to utilise the facilities and opportunities to the maximum and explore the possibilities in the private sector also and open their own enterprises in the future.

Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills Ram Singh, Superintendent of Police, Dr M G R Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division among others, were present on the function.
