Meghalaya BJP receives major boost, 4 UDP MDCs join party

SHILLONG | Sept 04, 2019:

The BJP received a major boost in Meghalaya with the joining of the four MDCs of the United Democratic Party (UDP) in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) during a function which was held at the party office here today.

The four UDP MDCs who joined the BJP in the presence of party national spokesperson in charge Meghalaya, Nalin Kohli include Lakhon Biam who is also the chairman of the Council, Dawan Lyngdoh,  Krison Langstang and Treilang Suchiang.

Meanwhile, JHADC chairman, Lakhon Biam said that he has returned to the party which he considers as his first home. "I had left the party for contesting in the ADCs' elections since the party did not contest the election. But now I am back to be the shoulder the responsibility for the growth of the party," Biam said. It may be mentioned Biam had left the BJP in order to contest the ADCs elections from the UDP.
