Meghalaya: 1st Entrepreneurship Summit to be held on Jan 21

With a vision to make entrepreneurship a preferred career choice for the young entrepreneurs, Meghalaya government is all set to host its first Entrepreneurship & Start Up Summit on January 21 which will be held at State Convention Centre, Shillong.

The programme is being organized by the Planning Department, Government of Meghalaya implemented by the Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE), Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) and Indian Institute of Technology- Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP).

The chief guest for the event will be Meghalaya's Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and CEO of NITI Ayog, Amitabh Kanth
will grace the event as the Guest of Honour.

The summit will also witness an array of resource persons from various backgrounds including Mekin Maheshwari (Founder, Udhyam, Former CPO, Flipkart), Saransh Roy (Startup India, Invest India), SagarDaryani (CEO & Co-founder, Wow! Momo), Mark Laitphlang Stone (CEO & Founder, Group Avenues), Pradeep Gupta (Chairman & Managing Director, Cyber Media, India Ltd.), Rudy Wahlang (member of Shillong's Blues band Soulmate), Pauline Warjri (Choir Director, Aroha Choir, Shillong), Imti Kharkongor (Khasi Bloodz band, Shillong) followed by award Ceremony to felicitate the Top 100 entrepreneurs of the state.

The programme will also showcase performance by Lamphang Syiemlieh, group act by Megha Warriors, Rikune, Snap Paka and fashion show by Daniel Syiem & Iba Mallai among other performances followed by an expo of stalls by state entrepreneurs as well as from other States.

It may be mentioned that the Meghalaya Entrepreneurship & Startup Summit is a culmination of the Chief Minister's E-Champion Challenge 2019 that was launched in August 14, 2019 by CM Conrad Sangma with the objective of identifying and encouraging potential entrepreneurs from across the state.
