MANIPUR: Two bombs found in Imphal

IMPHAL | June 8, 2019:

Panic triggered among people after two bombs were found in two separate places in Imphal on Thursday morning.

The explosives, believed to have been planted by rebels, however, did not
explode.

Police said a bomb was found at the residence of a contractor at Khurai
Thoudam Leikai while another was found from Bishop House, Mantripukhri, Lamlongei.

Bomb experts from Manipur Police rushed to the spots, safely retrieved the
explosives and detonated them at a safer place.

Denouncing the Khurai incident, local Meira Paibi Lups (women vigil groups) demonstrated at the Khurai Athouba community hall.

The womenfolk, while denouncing the planting of bomb in the settlement area, demanded the responsible group to clarify the motive behind their subversive act.

Following the development, security has been beefed up at in various strategic areas of the capital.

Police has started investigating into both the incidents.
